True Meaning of Christmas

xoxoxo True Meaning of Christmas
One morning I heard a story on the radio
of a woman who was out Christmas shopping with her 2 children.
… After many hours of looking at row after row of toys and everything else imaginable and hearing both her children asking for everything they saw on those many shelves, she finally made it to the elevator with her 2 kids.
She was feeling what so many of us feel during the holiday season time of the year.
Overwhelming pressure to:
go to every party,
every housewarming,
taste all the holiday food and treats,
getting that perfect gift for every single person on our shopping list,
making sure we don’t forget anyone on our card list, and
the pressure of making sure we respond to everyone who sent us a card.
Finally, the elevator doors opened to an already-crowded car.
She pushed her way into the car and dragged her 2 kids in with her and all the bags of stuff.
When the doors closed, she couldn’t take it anymore and stated,
“Whoever started this whole Christmas thing
should be found, strung up, and shot.”
From the back of the car everyone heard a quiet calm voice respond,
“Don’t worry - we already crucified him.”
For the rest of the trip down the elevator,
it was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.
Don’t forget this year to keep
“the One who started this whole Christmas thing”
in your every thought, deed, purchase, and word.

The Gold Wrapping Paper (True Story – This Will Make You Cry)

Dear friends, As we entered Christmas season today, In this season of love, may we all remember the true Story and beautiful love of a small child, This Will Make You Cry. I wish you all a meaningful and love-filled season and new year ahead. May your days be filled with love, joy, growth, and with blessings of Almighty. Once upon a time, a man punished his five-year-old daughter for using up the family’s only roll of expensive gold wrapping paper before Christmas. Money was tight, so he became even more upset when on Christmas Eve; he saw that the child had used the expensive gold paper to decorate a large shoebox she had put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the next morning the little girl, filled with excitement, brought the gift box to her father and said, “This is for you, Daddy!” As he opened the box, the father was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, now regretting how he had punished her.

But when he opened the shoebox, he found it was empty and again his anger flared. “Don’t you know, young lady,” he said harshly, “when you give someone a present there’s supposed to be something inside the package!” The little girl looked up at him with sad tears rolling from her eyes and whispered: “Daddy, it’s not empty. I blew kisses into it until it was all full.” The father was crushed. He fell on his knees and put his arms around his precious little girl. He begged her to forgive him for his unnecessary anger. An accident took the life of the child only a short time later. It is told that the father kept this little gold box by his bed for all the years of his life. Whenever he was discouraged or faced difficult problems, he would open the box, take out an imaginary kiss, and remember the love of this beautiful child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each of us as human beings have been given an invisible golden box filled with unconditional love and kisses from our children, family, friends and God. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold. xoxo
